Cygnus Wall — NGC 7000

The Cygnus Wall is the most prominent feature of the North America Nebula (NGC 7000) — a towering ridge of ionized gas that forms what would be the "Mexico and Central America" coastline of the nebula's continent shape.

Shot through a Celestron C16 at f/10, this is a close-up view of the wall's structure. The long focal length pulls out detail that a widefield refractor can't reach — dark dust lanes cutting through bright emission, pillars of gas being sculpted by stellar radiation, and the sharp boundary where dense molecular cloud meets ionized hydrogen.
